11am transfer deadline day news: Featuring Ozil, Gomis and Butland

Breaking developments

Mesut Ozil is not going to Manchester United, with reports the Guardian and the BBC suggest that Arsenal are the only club likely to sign the German international from Real Madrid. Marca is reporting that Ozil would like to stay and fight for his place at Real Madrid.

Rumour: With the loss of Kaka, and if they lose Ozil, Real may try to sign Luis Suarez from Liverpool.

Newcastle United have missed out on signing Bafetimbi Gomis from Lyon.

Andrea Dossena is on his way to Sunderland for a medical, along with Liverpool striker Fabio Borini on loan.

Karim Benzema looks to be staying in Spain according to reports, he was targeted by Arsenal for much of the transfer window after the Gunners’ failed to land Liverpool’s Luis Suarez – with Benzema their only real established striker, they would need a replacement.

West Brom’s Peter Odemwingie has been given permission to speak to Cardiff City. The Baggies have been in contact with Everton over signing Victor Anichebe and with Sunderland over Stephane Sessegnon.

Young England goalkeeper Jack Butland is attracting interest from Sheffield Wednesday. The Owls hope to sign the Stoke shot-stopper on loan but are concerned about financing the deal.

In the pipeline

Everton are trying to bring James McCarthy in from Wigan according to reports. A bid of around £14m could be enough to reunite the midfielder with Roberto Martinez.

Liverpool are expected to complete a season-long loan deal for Victor Moses from Chelsea. The club could also sign goalkeeper Shay Given on loan from Aston Villa according to some reports.

Manchester United are working on deals to bring Everton’s Marouanne Fellaini to Old Trafford along with Athletic Bilbao midfielder Ander Herrera. Bilbao newspaper El Correo claims Herrera has agreed a deal in principle which will see him become a United player.

Harry Redknapp is looking to bring young Tottenham midfielder Tom Carroll on loan to QPR, along with team mate Benoit Assou-Ekotto. Crystal Palace are also understood to be interested in Carroll.

Former Norwich City striker Kei Kamara is in England and is expected to join Middlesbrough.

Crystal Palace have Reading defender Adrian Mariappa undergoing a medical at the club. Aston Villa midfielder Barry Bannan is also reported to be at their training ground.

There is still speculation over where Juan Mata’s future lies – with some reports saying he could even hand in a transfer request. He has caught the attention of many Premier League clubs this summer, including Arsenal and Tottenham.

Cameron Jerome could be leaving Stoke with reports saying he is free to leave. Wigan Athletic are believed to be interested along with Reading.

Tom Ince is still attracting interest from Premier League clubs with Tottenham leading the list of clubs interested, but manager Paul Ince would like to keep his son at Blackpool.

Done deal

Everton midfielder Francisco Junior has joined Vitesse Arhem on a season-long loan deal.

AC Milan have re-signed playmaker Kaka from Real Madrid on a two year deal.

Liverpool have signed defenders Tiago Ilori and Mamadou Sakho from Sporting Lisbon and PSG respectively.

Stoke City have signed winger and forward Marko Arnautovic from Bundesliga side Werder Bremen for a fee of £2 million.

Gareth Bale will be unveiled as a Real Madrid player at midday after his world record transfer was completed this morning.
