Manchester United transfer news: Spaniard ‘agrees terms’; starlet part of Fellaini deal

A select round-up of transfer news relating to Manchester United, including Ander Herrera, Marouane Fellaini and Jesse Lingard.

Spanish newspaper El Correo reports that Ander Herrera wants a move to Manchester United, claiming personal terms have been agreed for a five-year deal that will see the Spanish midfielder earn €4million a year.

Reports yesterday claimed David Moyes had balked at the player’s release-clause of €36million, and yet today’s story claims he may actually pay a total of €38million (a fee that includes a youth levy), for the Athletic Bilbao player.

If the deal goes through, United will be cutting it fine, with transfer deadline day less than 24 hours away.

But Herrera may not be the only midfielder arriving at Old Trafford tomorrow, with reports from Belgium claiming Marouane Fellaini has said his farewells to his Everton teammates and will soon be a United player.

Sport Wereld claims Moyes has agreed a £24million deal to be reunited with the Belgian; £500,000 more than the release clause that expired earlier this summer.

It is a claim echoed by today’s Mirror, who report that Fellaini played his final game for the Toffees yesterday and that Roberto Martinez wants Jesse Lingard on loan as part of the deal.

The English paper quotes a figure of £36million, but with United unlikely to pay such an inflated fee, it surely takes into account the player’s wages for the coming seasons.
