All the news, views and transfer rumours from Anfield this weekend…
Liverpool continued their impressive (and 100%) start to the season with a 1-0 win over Manchester United at Anfield earlier today.
The result means Brendan Rodgers has now overseen three 1-0 wins in his first three league games of the season, and given his side’s defensive performance today, he will be excited at what may come.

Sturridge later revealed that he played with a slight injury, but it worked out well and proved to be the perfect present on his 24th birthday.
“I had a problem with my thigh before the game,” the striker said, “it’s still hindering me now. But I went out and put on a good performance for the boys.”
Despite the outstanding start to the season, Rodgers is keeping both his and his players’ feet very much on the ground.
“We won’t be getting carried away,” he said after the match. “We have got to continue to improve.”
Although he then made a point that bears repeating and offers hope for Liverpool fans dreaming of league success.
“I said before the game that since we last played Manchester United we have both played 18 games and there was only two points difference,” he said.
That simple but surprising fact suggests Liverpool may not just be making up the numbers this season.
“The players that we want, if we can get them over the line, are all quality players and will really help us going forward,” he said.
