Liverpool transfer news: Sunderland want striker on loan; Moses deal completed

A select round-up of transfer news relating to Liverpool, including Luis Suarez, Fabio Borini and Victor Moses.

As Liverpool prepare to face Manchester United this afternoon, the Mirror has published quotes from Steven Gerrard about the future of teammate Luis Suarez.

With the stories linking him with a move to Arsenal seemingly resigned to the past, the Liverpool captain has asked the striker to give them one more good season and then he would happily wave him certain clubs.

If we don’t qualify for the Champions League this season he can go to Real Madrid, Barcelona or Bayern Munich...and he can go with his head held high,” Gerrard said.

When Suarez does return from his suspension, he may have lost one rival for a forward birth, with the same paper reporting that Fabio Borini is a loan target for Sunderland.

The Italian has failed to hit the heights since becoming Brendan Rodgers’ first Liverpool signing last summer. Signed for a reported fee of £11million, good things were expected from Borini, but instead Paolo Di Canio may soon be giving him the chance to kick-start his career at the Stadium of Light.

And finally, the Reds have completed a loan deal of their own – for Chelsea forward Victor Moses.

The Guardian reports that Liverpool will pay a £1million fee for a year-long deal, and that there is no option to make the move permanent next summer.
