Arsenal go into this match looking for their first home league win of the season. Three points for the Gunners would move them into the top half of the table and ease some of the pressure which currently hangs over Arsene Wenger.
Arsenal produced a superb 3-1 win away at Fulham in their last match in stark contrast to the 3-1 opening day defeat they were dealt against a determined Aston Villa side. Arsenal are of course missing several key players through injury.
For spurs it’s a case of simply carrying on their momentum as they have produced two wins from two games so far this season.
Andre Villas-Boas may be looking for a more flamboyant attacking display as Spurs have only managed two goals so far this season but that will be difficult considering the pressure Arsenal can build at home.
It’s also another chance for Tottenham to prove they can cope without Gareth Bale, with that deal expected to go through today or tomorrow.
