Victor Moses is set to join Liverpool on loan. The Nigerian international winger was in attendance to watch Liverpool take on Manchester United at Anfield today - as the final kinks were ironed out in the deal that will take him back to the North West.
It is believed that The Reds will pay Chelsea a £1 million fee for the player to play at Anfield for the 2013-14 season.
A deal to sign Christian Atsu from Porto has been finalised. The talented Ghanaian winger has signed a five-year deal at the club - and tweeted his excitement at the move last night.
The deal is believed to be worth in the region of £3.5 million and is yet another attacking midfielder to join the team this summer.
However, we will have to wait to see him in action, as he will spend the 2013-14 season on loan at farm club Vitesse Arnhem.
The Mirror have run a story regarding new signing Samuel Eto’o. The Cameroonian reportedly made this comment after a game between Chelsea and Barcelona in 2005:
“I would sooner sell groundnuts in my home village than play for a pathetic club like Chelsea.”
But this quote was exposed as a hoax on Twitter a couple of days ago … so don’t take any notice.
Arsenal are still after Juan Mata, but for him to leave he may have to hand in a transfer request at Chelsea.
The Spaniard has slipped down the pecking order after the signings of Andre Schurrle and Willian this summer - as well as the return from loan of Kevin De Bruyne.
Didier Drogba has offered words of comfort to Romelu Lukaku after his penalty miss against Bayern Munich in the UEFA Super Cup on Friday night.
Chelsea lost the tie, after Manuel Neuer saved Lukaku’s tame penalty, but his former team-mate had this to say:
‘Only those who don’t take a penalty never miss and you were strong enough to do it. You are learning, the same way I learnt with this red card in the final in Moscow or this semi final against Barcelona!!! Keep on working hard better days are coming for sure. You are Chelsea you’re a blue and blues never give up.’
Nice one Didier, good to see!
