The deal completed a hat-trick of signings yesterday, following the captures of Vlad Chiriches and Erik Lamela and takes the total number of summer arrivals at White Hart Lane to seven.
Eriksen had been strongly linked with Liverpool in recent months, but Spurs have moved swiftly to conclude the deal…and surely their business, for this transfer window at least.
Now all that remains is the small matter of finalising Gareth Bale’s move to Real Madrid.
The Daily Mail claims that move will be for less than the world record fee, with Tottenham accepting £78million for the Welshman.
Whether that is to appease the ego of Cristiano Ronaldo or because Spurs were simply happy to accept a lump sum is unknown. But a lump sum is what they will get, instantly recouping much of their own considerable summer spending.
Bale may have not yet completed his move to the Bernabeu, but it seems his boots have.
Spanish newspaper AS – apparently short on actual news – has run a story (and a picture) revealing that Bale’s boots have been delivered to Madrid prior to his official unveiling and ball-juggling ceremony.
