Schalke 04 are said to be readying a bid for Emmanuel Adabayor before the transfer window closes.
Tottenham Hotspur may be about to lose Gareth Bale, but focusing on the positives has seen many pundits praising the clubs excellent transfer activity this summer.
This week alone it appears that Erik Lamela, Vlad Chiriches and Christian Eriksen could be on their way to White Hart Lane from Roma, Steaua Bucharest and Ajax respectively.
Adding those talents to the likes of Paulinho, Roberto Soldado, Nacer Chadli and Etienne Capoue -who have already arrived to improve the squad
With those players arriving, those already there are now being linked with moves away - including Emmanuel Adebayor.
The Togolese striker was only signed last summer but his performance last term did not live up to the hype. He occasionally showed glimpses of his obvious natural talent toward the end of the season, but he didn’t score the goals expected of him.
With that in mind he was largely expected to be leaving the club this summer but until now no such deal has been thrashed out - although interest has been present from the likes of Besiktas.
But Spurs could be in luck, as it seems a brand new prospective buyer could be keen for a deal to go through.
German outfit Schalke 04 are reeling from the injury suffered by Klaas Jan Huntelaar and are searching for attacking options - a hunt which saw them enquire for Lukas Podolski of Arsenal last week.
But with Finnish international Teemu Pukki seemingly set to join Scottish champions Celtic in the coming days they are ready to step up their interest in several attacking options.
Now, Schalke boss Horst Heldt, is ready to make a move for Adebayor.
Reports in German publication Bild suggest he could join Adam Szalai in arriving in Gelsenkirchen this summer - with the only question regarding what type of approach the Bundesliga side make for the player.
An €8 million price-tag has been placed on his head, according to the report, which may put him out of their price range. Therefore a loan deal is being mooted as far more possible for the club.
Do you think Adebayor would be a success in Germany?
