AC Milan have won the race for Juventus striker Alessandro Matri. The 29-year-old Italian international has long been linked with an exit from Turin - even before the Bianconeri snapped up Carlos Tevez and Fernando Llorente this summer.
An undisclosed fee has been agreed between the two clubs which sees the striker arrive at his boyhood club and his arrival has been compared to that of Flippo Inzaghi in 2001.
Staying with AC Milan now, and something of a shock departure - as Kevin Prince Boateng has left the club to join Schalke 04. The Ghanaian international, who previously played for Schalke’s bitter rivals Borussia Dortmund on loan, had been linked with several exits this summer - but Schalke were never considered major contenders for his signature.
He has signed a four-year-deal at the Veltins Arena and is expected to play against Bayer Leverkusen tomorrow.
Athletic Bilbao have rejected a bid for their star midfielder Ander Herrera. The 24-year-old Spaniard was reportedly the subject of a big money move this week, but Bilbao insist he will not be sold for a penny under his £30.75 million release clause.
The club who bid for the player have not been named.
Celtic are on the verge of signing Teemu Pukki from Schalke 04. A fee has been agreed and the Finland international striker is currently undergoing a medical in Glasgow ahead of his proposed move.
It looks as if Premier League sides are set to miss out on Belgian international Toby Alderweireld. The Ajax star, who has been linked with a number of European teams this summer, looks all set to join La Liga side Atletico Madrid in a £5 million deal.
Galatasaray could be about to snap up promising Portuguese winger Bruma. The teenager, who has been in a contract dispute with his current club Sporting Lisbon for a month now, and the Turkish side have reportedly made a bid of €12 million for the player.
Kaka has revealed he wants to leave Real Madrid. AC Milan have been installed as the early favourites for his signature but they are struggling to muster up funds for such a deal - having already spent money earned through the sale of Boateng on Matri.
Real Madrid have entered the race for Paul Pogba. While Juventus have no plans to sell the former Manchester United player the club have admitted the interest:
“Real Madrid President Florentino Perez asked about him, but there are no negotiations.”
Finally, and Bayer Leverkusen have been busy. The club have re-signed former player Eren Derdiyok on loan from 1899 Hoffenheim, while sending Arkadiusz Milik to FC Augsburg.
