A round up of the latest transfer stories concerning Chelsea.
Chelsea will reportedly listen to offers for striker Fernando Torres before the transfer deadline on Monday.
The arrival of Samuel Eto’o on a one-year deal means Torres’ position in the current Chelsea squad is under threat and he could seek regular football outside Stamford Bridge.
Eto’o has taken a huge pay cut to move to the West London side from Russian giants Anzhi Makhachkala and he could feature straight away, pushing Torres onto the subs bench.
Chelsea could also seal the signing of FC Porto winger Christian Atsu before the weekend.
Latest reports suggest that a deal is imminent, which would see the 23-year-old join for a fee of around £3.5 million.
Jose Mourinho will consider the deal a subconscious victory over Liverpool, who were also linked with the player, although it’s unclear how Atsu will fit into the Chelsea first team.
Chelsea midfielder John Obi Mikel’s agent has suggested that he wants to spend the rest of his career at the club.
Mikel has been linked with moves away from Chelsea this summer but with nothing coming together, he seems to have settled for a place in a very competitive squad.
“He loves this club, the manager knows him and likes him and he will not be going anywhere during this transfer window. Some clubs came in and expressed their interest but that is where it stopped,” said his agent John Shittu.
