Liverpool transfer news: £12 million will get Sakho, deal for Montoya unlikely

A round up of the latest transfer stories to do with Liverpool.

Liverpool continue to work on a deal to sign PSG defender Mamadou Sakho following Kolo Toure’s recent injury.

The club have already seen an £8 million offer for the player rejected and they are expected to lodge another offer, possibly before the weekend.

Reports suggest that PSG are holding out for a fee within the region of £12 million, which Liverpool may have to pay in the face of interest from Arsenal, Tottenham Hotspur and AC Milan.

Another possible defensive option still linked with the club is Barcelona’s Martin Montoya.

Napoli have been trying to sign the 22-year-old but have been unsuccessful which means Liverpool still have time to try and do a deal before the close of the transfer window this Monday.

Inter Milan and Napoli have made enquiries about the player with Barcelona stating he’s not for sale so it would take a mega offer from Liverpool to force their hand.

Liverpool will pick up the pace in their efforts to sign Victor Moses from Chelsea according to the Express.

Moses is unlikely to feature for the Blues this Friday as they take on Bayern Munich in the Super Cup which means he could be free to negotiate a loan move with Liverpool before Monday.

Jose Mourinho has said that he doesn’t want to sell any players this summer but has not ruled out the possibility they could join other clubs on loan.
