A round up of the latest transfer stories to do with Chelsea.

Samuel Eto’o is set to complete a move to Chelsea signing a £7 million contract.

The former Barcelona and Inter Milan forward is expected to sign the one-year deal, moving from Russian side Anzhi Makhachkala following Willian.

Eto’o is thought to be the alternative to Wayne Rooney who Chelsea have been unable to poach away from Manchester United despite two impressive bids for the player.

Striker Demba Ba could be offered a fresh start through a return to Newcastle United.

Ba has struggled to nail down a first team place since his move to Stamford Bridge and various reports have suggested that his former employers will try to sign him on loan for the rest of the season before Monday.

However, it could be difficult for Newcastle with interest from other clubs in the Premier League as well as from Europe; Germany, Russia and Turkey.

Jose Mourinho has refused to sell play maker Juan Mata.

The Spaniard has been linked with a high profile move to Manchester United and Liverpool have seen an approach to take him on loan rejected, with the boss insisting that he’s an important part of his plans.

“There is no chance Juan goes. He had a very small pre-season after the Confederations Cup. And during that pre-season he was injured. He started training two days before we played the first league match,” Mourinho told Sky Sports News.
