Standard Chartered Bank appoints MD

Standard Chartered Bank has announced the appointment of Heidi Toribio as managing director and head of the Financial Institutions practice for the Bank in the Americas.

She is based in New York and reports to Peter Heidinger, global head of financial institutions, and Jeremy Bollington, co-head of wholesale banking and head of origination and client coverage for the Americas.

Toribio brings more than 25 years of banking experience to Standard Chartered, most recently serving as managing director of financial institutions structuring at Barclays Capital, where she also co-chaired the Americas Women’s Initiative Network. Prior to Barclays she held multiple roles at Lehman Brothers, including global co-treasurer.

Toribio holds an MBA from Columbia University and a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Syracuse University.

Standard Chartered also announced the appointment of Charles Kornberger as Managing Director and head of insurance industry client coverage for the Americas. He is based in New York and reports to Toribio.

Kornberger is the former head of the insurance group at Credit Agricole Corporate & Investment Bank in New York. He holds an MBA from the Fuqua School of Business at Duke University and a bachelor’s degree in finance from Lehigh University.
