Royal Bank of Scotland Corporate & Institutional Banking (RBS CIB) has made three new appointments to its Financial Institutions (FI) Structured Finance business, as it looks to continue to strengthen and develop its Speciality Finance team.

The Speciality Finance team focuses on originating and executing structured credit facilities to finance companies, debt purchasers and specialist lenders in the UK.

Nick Parkhouse has been appointed to head this team, moving from his previous role as a client coverage director in the Investment Management sector. Nick joined RBS two years ago, prior to which he worked at Commonwealth Bank of Australia and Barclays Capital - where he spent five years in the Speciality Finance team.

To further solidify the bank’s offering, RBS has appointed both Veronika Lovett (nee Borodoulina) and Michael Murray as a director and associate director respectively. Veronika Lovett brings significant experience across FI Structured Finance and Sponsor backed transactions and Murray, who joins as an associate director, previously worked in the securitisation team at Westpac, focused on consumer finance transactions. His experience spans warehousing and public issuance supporting a variety of finance companies including mortgages, leasing and auto finance.

All three will be based in London, where the RBS team now has 14 members of staff fully focused on the Speciality Finance sector - making it one of the largest and knowledgeable UK teams with over 25 years’ structuring experience. The team also includes a number of relationship management experts, providing clients with a one-stop solution for their banking needs.

Commenting on the appointments, Richard Kerton, Managing Director Financial Institution Structured Finance and Tony Kemp, Head of Lenders & Brokers said, 'RBS has been a leading player in the speciality finance sector for many years. We are extremely proud that we are able to offer a comprehensive one-stop solution to our customers, including lending, banking and risk solutions. The quality of appointments announced today further underlines our support and commitment to the sector'.

Parkhouse said, 'I am delighted to be part of a team that has such a depth in skills and experience. We are all looking forward to working with current and new customers in the Speciality Finance Sector as we continue to provide a high quality lending proposition'.
