A select round-up of transfer news relating to Arsenal, including Mesut Ozil, Juan Mata and Angel Di Maria
Juan Mata's father, also his agent, was present at Arsenal's Champions League tie against Fenerbahce last night and Arsene Wenger was quite guarded when asked about his presence at the match, particularly at this point in the transfer window, it would be an unlikely transfer but if it were to come off
Mata's future at Chelsea seems to be uncertain after he was left on the bench against Manchester United and doesn't seem to figure regularly in Jose Mourinho's plans. With the signing of Willian it seems he will be pushed more into the background despite being voted Chelsea's player of the season two seasons running.
Arsenal still hold an interest in Real Madrid winger Angel Di Maria though any deal may depend on Gareth Bale's move from Tottenham, it is thought that when Bale is brought in Madrid will need to offload any attacking player and Di Maria has been identified as surplus to requirements.
Another player looking close to the exit is Mesut Ozil and he has been linked with a move the Premier League. Arsene Wenger has long been an admirer of the German and tried to sign him before he moved to Real Madrid; he stormed off the pitch after being subbed in the weekend's game against Granada.
Wenger will hope to get some deals done before the North London Derby against Tottenham on Sunday afternoon, his need is even more now that Lukas Podolski will be out for three weeks with a hamstring injury,
