This evening Italian champions Juventus denied interest in Alexander Kolarov of Manchester City. The 27-year-old City fullback had been linked with a move away from the Etihad and linked with ‘interest’ from the Serie A giants but general director Beppe Marotta dismissed the claims.
"Are we interested in Kolarov? No, we have Pepe who is recovering and we are betting on him," he explained.
Paris Saint-Germain manager Laurent Blanc stated ‘new additions’ would be ‘unlikely’ in the French capital, despite the Ligue 1 champions being linked with Newcastle midfielder Yohan Cabaye.
"New reinforcements? I don't know for sure,” explained the Frenchman, insisting that players would be unlikely to come in unless players were sold.
Meanwhile, Wigan have allowed Mike Pollitt and Rakish Bingham to leave on loan to Barnsley and Falkirk respectively until the end of the year. Wigan boss Owen Coyle described the temporary moves for both as ‘great opportunities’.
Nottingham Forrest have made a ‘new bid’ for Grant Leadbitter of Middlesbrough. Boro hope the 27-year-old midfielder will remain at The Riverside as Forest renew their interest.
Elsewhere, Barcelona’s Cesc Fabregas ‘reiterated’ his desire to remain in Catalonia this evening, despite interest from Manchester United this summer.
The former Arsenal captain insisted he never wanted to leave the La Liga champions.
"I have never said that I could go, nor have I talked to the president or the coach about it," he told Esport Club.
"My dream is to stay here and succeed."
Elsewhere, Napoli youngster Lorenzo Insigne signed a new five-year deal to keep him at the Serie A giants. The 22-year-old put pen to paper on a deal to keep him at the Azzuri until 2018.
Finally, Notts County have signed Enda Stevens on loan from Aston Villa. The 23-year-old fullback and Northern Ireland U21 has been given permission by the midlands outfit to join the League One side on a ‘short-term’ deal.
