Liverpool transfer news: Reds to step up Moses pursuit, Borini won't be moved on

A round up of the latest transfer stories about Liverpool.

Liverpool will reportedly step up their interest in Chelsea’s Victor Moses over the rest of the week.

Reports broke yesterday which suggested that the Reds were looking to sign Moses on loan for the rest of the season as Brendan Rodgers looks to bulk up his attacking options.

Moses could be tempted by a move to Anfield as he doesn’t seem anywhere near the first team under Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho.

In news relating to a player already at the club, Rodgers has insisted that striker Fabio Borini will no be loaned out.

There have been suggestions the Italian could push for a loan move as he looks to gain regular football but Rodgers insists that he’s still a key member of the current squad.

“There would be a queue of clubs wanting to take him if he was available. We want to keep a strong group - it's a very long season for us. You've got Daniel (Sturridge), Fabio, (Iago) Aspas and Luis (Suarez) to come in a number of weeks,” Rodgers told the Liverpool website.

If Liverpool ever had any real interest in Ajax defender Toby Alderweireld then their chances of pulling off a late deal for the Belgian have just been dashed.

Atletico Madrid have just had an offer for the player rejected, which means if Liverpool want to do a deal they face Ajax’s reluctance to let the player leave plus a possible bidding war.

There are still some lingering reports that Rodgers wants to do a deal for one more defensive player before the close of the transfer window.
