For a young player arriving at Arsenal, Yaya Sanogo has received more attention than most.
It is due to the 20-year-old being the only addition at the Gunners over the course of the summer, despite more new faces being promised by the hierarchy at the club.
While the French youth international made his debut off the bench for the final nine minutes against Fulham at the weekend, fans got a far more substantial look at him in action last night.
Sanogo was brought on for the final 30 minutes, replacing compatriot Olivier Giroud - making his first competitive appearance at the Emirates, albeit with the Gunners cruising on aggregate.
So how did he get on? We have taken a look at his performance from a statistical standpoint, as well as what fans had to say about him.
He touched the ball 11 times during his time on the pitch, at a slightly lower rate than Olivier Giroud who made 29 touches in 60 minutes.
Sanogo had one shot on goal, which ended up off target, sailing high and wide.
He made eight successful passes, exactly half of the number Theo Walcott (16) made, who played for 75 minutes rather than 30.
Sanogo was fouled on two occasions by Fenerbahce players, but was also dispossessed twice - more than any other Arsenal player with the exception of Carl Jenkinson (three times).
Here;s what fans had to say about his brief appearance;
Sanogo still lacks confidence but I'm sure he ll come good at #AFC— I am your boss (@iamjustvictor) August 27, 2013
It's early, but so far, Sanogo was nothing but a disappointment. Slow, bad technique, bad decision making. Hope there's more to him #AFC— Adis Kubat (@QbatAdis) August 27, 2013
Sanogo might come good in the future....I mean look at Ramsey #AFC— George Thierry (@brownchild1) August 27, 2013
Anyone writing off Sanogo as a player already should switch to watching golf. Football is not for you. You're welcome. #AFC— Bloke in Brooklyn (@BrooklynShaun) August 27, 2013
Sanogo was very unsettled. Hope he adapt to our game quick #AFC— _Gunner_ (@PenchevAFC) August 27, 2013
Sanogo looked raw, impatient and young. Get a striker and loan him #AFC— C (@coshteiner) August 27, 2013
Did he show any promise for you to be encouraged? Is it ridiculous to be writing him off so soon?
