Crystal Palace are ready to take another one of Arsenal’s unwanted strikers off their hands, as it was revealed the club would be making an approach to the North London club for the services of Danish striker Nicklas Bendtner.
It is reported that the former Sunderland and Juventus loanee met with Crystal Palace manager Ian Holloway and chairman Steve Parrish to talk out the details of a potential move to Selhurst Park this summer.
Bendtner has already been the subject of reportedly unsuccessful bids from FC Twente, Malaga, Eintracht Frankfurt and FC Basel this summer - while Hamburg SV are said to be in the process of negotiating with the player.
So far his whopping wages have played massive role in his lack of transfer activity this summer, despite being told he has no place in the Arsenal first-team this summer.
If he was to switch to Palace he would join Marouane Chamakh at the newly promoted club.
According to reports from the North East this morning Yohan Cabaye has not gone on strike at St James Park - but is hoping to push through a move to Arsenal this summer.
Arsenal have not yet made an improved bid for the French international - despite reports in the national press of an imminent £20 million follow-up to the £12 million bid made earlier in the week.
The £20 million bid would see Arsenal pay down an immediate fee of £15 million - with a further £5 million paid over a five-year contract and a sell on clause of 10%.
However one Newcastle player not going to Arsenal will be Tim Krul, with no contact made over the Dutch international goalkeeper Tim Krul.
Arsenal are again being linked with Valencia goalkeeper Vicente Guaita this morning. The club reportedly made a £5 million bid for the player last week, which fell short of the asking price the La Liga outfit had set for the player.
Now it is suggested that the club will return with a £7 million for the player this week.
