Tottenham weekend round-up: 1-0 win, £30m for Hulk and Chiriches 'signs'

All the news and gossip from the past 48 hours at White Hart Lane.

Plenty on Gareth Bale this weekend as stages are reportedly being set at the Bernabeu ahead of his apparently imminent official unveiling, which could happen as early as tomorrow.

The question seems to be financial - and how much Real are willing to spend on the Welshman.

Bale is however reportedly in Spain, after flying into a private airport in Malaga, and the deal is now officially the worst kept secret in football.

The Zenit St Petersburg attacker has worked with Andre Villas-Boas previously at Porto - and Spurs could be looking at making a £30 million bid for the player, who is reported to be unsettled in Russia.

Spurs have reportedly signed Vlad Chiriches from Steaua Bucharest. Reports in Romania suggest they have snapped up the talented player for a fee of £8.5 million.

His transfer had previously been blocked by imprisoned Steaua chairman Gigi Becali. However he has now decided that the move is inevitable and has given the move his blessing.

"Chelsea Football Club can confirm an agreement has been reached with both Willian and his club Anzhi Makhachkala for the transfer of the Brazilian player.

"The transfer is subject to a work permit hearing on Wednesday."

A deal for Erik Lamela could be finalised this week. The AS Roma star is reportedly set to join the club as early as Tuesday - but the Roma manager Rudi Garcia has included him in his most recent squad and reports are currently inconsistent on his future … watch this space.
