Jack Wilshere has been speaking about the future of Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger, suggesting he could leave The Emirates should Wenger lose his job.
Wenger has been under pressure in recent months, but Wilshere does not feel Wenger should go anywhere:
‘’I want to win things with Arsenal and I want to be there in the future but if the boss leaves then things could change. Arsenal are always in my heart and by signing a deal for the next five years shows my commitment to them and their commitment to me so at the moment everything is good. Arsene Wenger has been there for so many years and he's always delivered trophies. OK we've had a little dip in the last five or six years but he's a great manager and people who question his ability are ridiculous. He's qualified for the Champions League for 16 years so I think he's the right man for the job.’’
Arsenal are set to send Lukas Podolski on loan to Schalke 04 this season. The German international was linked with the move yesterday afternoon, as he reportedly looks to have regular playing time ahead of the World Cup in Brazil next summer.
Schalke are struggling with injury problems in the attacking area of the field and it seems what appeared a rumour yesterday is now a potential deal on the verge of completion.
Arsenal have had an opening bid for Spanish goalkeeper Vicente Guaita rejected. The bid has however been rejected for the 26-year-old, as the offer reportedly left his club in a ‘state of shock’.
It is believed that Arsenal finance director Richard Law flew to Valencia on Tuesday, but the bid was doomed for failure from the start.
Mathieu Flamini was linked with signing a permanent deal at the club yesterday, after training with the club this summer. That now seems a likely deal, with Arsene Wenger refusing to comment on his future, whilst also stating he has impressed the boss during his stint at the club. He left Arsenal five years ago to join AC Milan - who released him this summer.
Reported Arsenal target Julio Cesar is set to join Benfica. The Brazilian is looking for a move away from QPR this summer, in order to play regular top-flight football next season.
Cesar looked set to be staying at QPR earlier in the week when Brazil coach Luiz Felipe Scolari suggested that was the case.
But it now appears QPR will get him off their wage bill by sending him to Portugal.
Arsenal are awaiting news over Laurent Koscielny’s injury, but he is suspended from the game with Fulham this Saturday.
The Frenchman suffered a nasty head injury against Fenerbahce in midweek, which has left him touch and go for the weekend fixture.
Wenger has also confirmed that Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain is far more likely to miss the next 12 weeks of the season - rather than the original six originally stated.
Bacary Sagna says he is happy to fill in at centre-back in the current injury crisis. Sagna filled in against Fenerbahce, and did quite well, which is likely to see him play alongside Per Mertesacker against Fulham this weekend.
Finally, and Alan Pardew has stated that Arsenal must improve their offer for Yohan Cabaye to have any chance to sign the French international.
Cabaye is unlikely to feature against West Ham United this weekend.
