A selection of betting tips for you to consider ahead of the weekend’s Premier League action.
The opening weekend of the Premier League brought us plenty of drama, plenty of goals and the entertainment which generally leaves a void across the country each and every summer.
The good news is the matches keep coming think and fast with some superb fixtures in the next round of league games including Fulham v Arsenal on Saturday, Spurs v Swansea on Sunday and the eagerly anticipated Manchester United v Chelsea this Monday.
Here are five betting tips for you to consider this weekend.
Everton v West Brom – Everton to win by two goals
Everton should be on a high due to the way they battled away at Norwich City to get themselves a well earned point in a 2-2 draw.
Everton always look like a very tough team to beat when they play at Goodison Park and West Brom’s home defeat to Southampton last week will leave the Baggies low on confidence.
Back Everton to play well, attack well and win this game by two goals at 4/1 with Ladbrokes.
Newcastle United v West Ham United – West Ham to win
Newcastle suffered badly during their 4-0 defeat at Manchester City and the performance exposed some very basic problems within their side.
In contrast, the Hammers strolled to a 2-0 win at home against Premier League new boys Cardiff City. They weren’t at their best and West Ham boss Sam Allardyce is likely to be working very hard with the team this week.
Don’t be at all surprised to see a very rigid and determined looking West Ham side going to St James Park, with 5/2 from BetVictor on the away win looking very appealing.
Aston Villa v Liverpool – Benteke to score at any time
Aston Villa against Liverpool is one of the harder to predict matches of the next round of fixtures.
Villa look like a much more confident and dynamic team than they were last season, as they struggled their way to Premier League safety.
Christian Benteke is always a threat and the pace Villa have to use on the counter attack means the Belgian to score at any time at 15/8 with Stan James is too good to turn down.
Cardiff City v Manchester City – Aguero to score two or more goals
Cardiff City couldn’t have asked for a worse fixture as they look to recover from that opening game defeat to West Ham.
Manchester City will be very confident heading into this match and Aguero is likely to retain his place in the attack of Manuel Pellegrini’s side.
Considering how at ease Aguero looked against Newcastle, odds of 5/1 from Bet365 on him bagging at least two goals in this game seems a very good price which is likely to only go shorter.
Manchester United v Chelsea – Chelsea to win 2-1
Old Trafford is one of the huge grounds in global football that doesn’t seem to intimidate Jose Mourinho because he has a very good record there.
This is the first blockbuster clash of the season and it will be a case of Mourinho’s tactics against David Moyes’ heart on your sleeve style of play.
United will be confident from the win at Swansea and they certainly won’t be any pushovers but considering Mourinho’s record against United, a correct score prediction of 2-1 in favour of Chelsea at 11/1 with Ladbrokes looks a decent bet.
