Manchester City latest: €5m for defensive target and winger completes move

All the latest news, views and transfer rumours from the Etihad...

After plenty of speculation, Manchester City winger Scott Sinclair has finally completed his loan move to West Bromwich Albion.

The former Swansea player moved to the Blues last summer but failed to make an impact. And given the latest arrivals at the Etihad, he would have featured little for Manuel Pellegrini’s side in the coming campaign.

It is being reported the loan deal is with a view to a permanent move next summer. And remembering Sinclair’s form for the Swans, he could be ready for a second renaissance at The Hawthorns.

One potential new arrival at City is Atletico Madrid defender Martin Demichelis, although the Guardian claims City are unwilling to pay the Spanish side’s €5million asking price.

The Argentine defender only arrived in Madrid this summer, as a free agent following his departure from Pellegrini’s former side Malaga.

But it is being claimed the Chilean boss is only prepared to pay €3million to be reunited with the player, as he attempts to solve his defensive problems in light of injuries to Micah Richards, Vincent Kompany and Matija Nastasic.

And finally, Pablo Zabaleta has warned Cardiff they are in for a tough match this weekend.

Following City’s impressive victory on Monday, the defender said, “We scored a few goals and kept a clean sheet against Newcastle and now we move on to Cardiff.

Aguero and Dzeko did well and will score a lot of goals.”

City’s excited fans will certainly hope so.
