A round up of the latest transfer activity, news and rumours relating to Chelsea.
Chelsea will delay a potential ‘third bid’ for Wayne Rooney until after the Blues have played Manchester United on Monday, according to manager Jose Mourinho.
United have rejected two bids from Chelsea this summer – the latest a £25 million offer for the England number 10.
“I don't want Chelsea to do it before we go there," Mourinho explained of a potential third bid.
"I think this period, by the ethical point of view, is a period where we're going to be quiet."
This comes as United ‘fear’ that a third bid for Rooney could unsettle the player ahead of the crucial fixture between the two English giants.
However, reports have emerged that United want Juan Mata as part of any deal taking Rooney to Stamford Bridge this summer. According to reports, United would be willing to swap the English striker for Chelsea’s star playmaker.
Meanwhile, Chelsea remain ‘on alert’ over rumours Radamel Falcao ‘wants to leave’ Monaco just weeks after signing a five-year contract with the big-spending French outfit.
The Ligue 1 side have categorically denied rumours the Colombian is ‘unhappy’ but speculation continues that the 27-year-old striker regrets his decision to move to Monaco.
Elsewhere, Chelsea target Robert Lewandowski committed his future to Borussia Dortmund after a long summer saga as the Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich attempted to lure the Polish striker from Dortmund.
"It is the case that I will stay for another year at Dortmund. We have settled all our disagreements and talked things over. There are no more problems,” he stated.
