Arsenal latest: Including Koscielny 'OK' and Podolski future

All the news and gossip from the past 24 hours at The Emirates.

Olivier Giroud has posted a picture on Twitter that will be a good sight for all Arsenal fans. Laurent Koscielny suffered a horrific looking cut to his eye during the game with Fenerbahce last night. He was kicked above the right eye by Fener striker Pierre Webo - which left ‘one of the worst’ gashes on his head ever seen by physio Colin Lewin.

But despite false reports of a fractured eye socket, Olivier Giroud posted a picture on Twitter that suggested his French international team-mate was OK.

Some reports even suggest he could feature against Fenerbahce in the return leg next week - although the early Saturday kick off against Fulham may be out of the question.

Arsenal are reportedly chasing both Karim Benzema and Angel Di Maria of Real Madrid. It is believed a £40 million bid for Benzema is being readied, while no word has yet arose on the potential fee for the Argentine international.

The club have already missed out on fellow strikers Gonzalo Higuain and Luis Suarez.

Arsenal were recently linked with a move for Juventus midfielder Paul Pogba. The French international had an exceptional campaign in Turin since his summer move from Manchester United. But Juve have now insisted that the player is not for sale at any price this summer.

It looks like Yohan Cabaye will be left out of Newcastle United’s squad for the Saturday tie with West Ham United. The French international is reportedly unsettled after Arsenal made a £12 million bid for the player last week.

Paris Saint-Germain reportedly made a bid for the player today - in the region of £20 million - so competition is fierce for his signature.

Lukas Podolski is being linked with a move away from the club. Various reports today suggest he could be going to several different destinations - including Galatasaray, VfL Wolfsburg, Schalke 04 and, incredibly, Tottenham Hotspur.

Finally, and West Ham co-owner David Gold has told Arsenal that they will reject any bid for Momo Diame. The Senegalese midfielder started the season in great shape against Cardiff City this season. Arsenal have historic interest in the player, which could be rekindled this summer. But any bid would fall on deaf ears at Upton Park.
