Transfer Talk: Featuring Mavrias, Elmander and Swansea duo

Featuring Sunderland, Galatasaray, Norwich, Swansea, Arsenal, Barnsley, Blackburn and Reading.

Christian Mavrias is undergoing a medical at Sunderland ahead of an agreed £2.5 million move to the Black Cats from Panathinaikos. The 19-year-old winger is expected to be officially unveiled by the club tomorrow.

Meanwhile, Norwich completed the signing of Johan Elmander on loan from Galatasaray until the end of the season. The 32-year-old former Bolton striker will remain with the Canaries this term.

Earlier today, Swansea City boss Michael Laurdrup insisted Arsenal targets Ashley Williams and Michu are ‘going nowhere’, despite interest from the Gunners.

"It would cause huge damage because if you lose players of that quality you have to find replacements of the same level," he said.

"That is why we cannot do that so late. If you sell someone and then try to buy, people know you have a lot of money.”

In the Championship, Barnsley have confirmed the signing of Marcus Pederson on loan from Vitesse. The 23-year-old signed on a season-long deal.

Blackburn Rovers are ‘considering’ a bid for Marvin Zeeglaar of Turkish outfit Elazigspor where the Dutchman is hopeful of a loan move.

New Reading signing Royston Drenthe is hoping for a ‘long-term stay at the club following his permanent transfer from Alania Vladikavkaz in June.

Elsewhere, Ligue 1 side Toulouse are hopeful of signing Clement Chantome on a season-long loan deal from French champions Paris Saint-Germain.

Finally, AC Milan remain hopeful of signing Keisuke Honda of CSKA Moscow and the club president confirmed the Serie A giants are ‘in talks’ with the Japan international.
