Tottenham Hotspur latest: Willian imminent and three more to follow?

All the latest Tottenham Hotpsur news and gossip.

It has been a particularly busy time at White Hart Lane over the past 24 hours, with manager Andre Villas-Boas describing it as 'frantic'.

He said: "In the end, anything can happen. We are dragging ourselves into the last weeks of transfer activity and it can become very, very frantic."

Brazilian playmaker Willian is said to be close to sealing his transfer, with a deal expected to cost a club record £30 million. Willian is due to undergo his medical on Thursday, and Sky Sports claim a five-year deal has been agreed.

More players could be incoming too, with Roma star Erik Lamela most likely. Reports in Italy and picked up by The Metro have this evening claimed a fee has been agreed between the two clubs. Lamela was photographed in Roma's new kit today for their official team photo, with his girlfriend describing it on Twitter as a 'farce', hinting in doing so that he may not be sticking around.

The same report claims a deal for Romanian defender Vlad Chichires could finally be completed for £3 million. A deal had appeared dead in the water after his agent was trying to hawk him round to Italian clubs two weeks ago, but it too has a chance of being sealed by the end of the week.

The Mail claims Fabio Coentrao is also likely to join the club from Real Madrid, with the left-back keen on a move away from the Bernabeu. Andre Villas-Boas said in his press conference: "Coentrao and Lamela, both great players but that's all I can say, we are moving forward, adding tremendous talent so we can be very strong."

The elephant in the room remains Gareth Bale, who remains unfit. Real Madrid are continuing their pursuit of the winger, even though club legend Raul says he is 'too expensive.' Premature reports have claimed deals have been agreed, but there remains nothing official or credible to suggest that it is so just yet.

Amidst all of this, Spurs are in Georgia preparing for a Europa League match with Dinamo Tblisi which takes place on Thursday night. The trio of Jan Vertonghen, Sandro and Aaron Lennon have all been rested and will not take part.
