A round up of the latest transfer stories about Chelsea.
Roma are reportedly ready to offer striker Demba Ba a way out of Stamford Bridge.
Ba faces an unpredictable season with the likes of Fernando Torres, Andre Schurrle, Victor Moses and Romelu Lukaku competing with him for a place in Jose Mourinho’s first team.
Roma are seeking to fill the void which has just been created by Pablo Osvaldo’s transfer to Southampton.
Chelsea may also lose another player with former boss Rafael Benitez eyeing up a move for holding midfielder John Obi Mikel.
Mikel was strongly linked with a switch to Turkish club Galatasaray earlier in the summer but the Express has suggested the Serie A giants could still make a move for the player.
The 26-year-old could find a move away from a very competitive group of midfielders at Chelsea very appealing, where he is often criticised for going missing in bigger games for the club.
Meanwhile, boss Jose Mourinho has given his first hint that a deal for Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney may not happen.
Chelsea have already seen two bids for Rooney turned down and Mourinho says the club have a plan b and c should a deal for the England hit man not be possible.
“We have plans B and C. Don't ask me names. It's difficult to speak about players from other clubs,” Mourinho said at a press conference.
