Transfer Talk: Featuring Cabaye, Fellaini and Willian

Arsenal, Tottenham Hotspur, Manchester United, Norwich City, West Ham United and Stoke City all feature.

Arsenal will reportedly up their offer for Newcastle midfielder Yohan Cabaye to around the £20 million mark. The Gunners had a £10 million offer turned down yesterday and are reportedly ready to double that bid in the face of interest from French club Paris Saint-Germain.

In other major transfer news, there is no sign just yet that Manchester United are upping their offer for Everton duo Leighton Baines and Marouane Fellaini. Everton rejected a £28 million offer for the pair as ‘insulting’ with several reports claiming United will have to pay at least £35 million.

Spurs are also closing in on a superb piece of business with reports suggesting they are close to a deal for Roma youngster Erik Lamela. Lamela was scouted by Manchester City last season and has been connected with several other top Premier League sides. His agent has suggested Spurs are leading the race.

Tottenham also seem to have overtaken Liverpool in the race to sign Willian from Russian club Anzhi Makhachkala. Spurs are ready to pay £30 million for the winger and striker, which could leave the path clear for Gareth Bale to complete a move to Real Madrid before the close of the transfer window.

Norwich City could also be about to pull off a superb piece of business with speculation suggesting they will try and sign Johan Elmander on a free. The former Bolton hit man is a free agent after he was released from Turkish club Galatasaray last month.

The Evening standard has reported that several West Ham United stars could be available with Sam Allardyce planning a clear out before the start of next month. Alou Diarra, Matt Taylor, Ricardo Vaz Te and Stephen Henderson are all thought to be up for grabs.

Stoke City seem to have reacted to their opening game defeat away at Liverpool by going after a former Liverpool player. Momo Sissoko is thought to be available from French club PSG, as the club reportedly told him he was free to try and find another club.
