Tottenham are reported to be preparing a bid for Liverpool target Willian with The Daily Telegraph reporting they are prepared to break their transfer record for the third time this summer by bidding £30m after the acquisitions of Paulinho and Roberto Soldado – with Spurs keen to add another attacking player before the transfer window closes.
Willian was transfer listed along with the rest of the Anzhi squad and would prefer a move to the Premier League according to many newspaper reports. Boss Andre-Villas Boas is a big fan of Brazilian international having tried to sign him in the past whilst manager of Chelsea when the striker was at Shakhtar Donetsk.
Willian could be a replacement for Gareth Bale, but could also be an addition as Spanish football expert Guillem Ballague posted an update on twitter about Bale's possible move to Real Madrid.
He said: "RM wld like Bale 2 rebel. He wont. Spurs want him 2 stay 1 more yr. RM will try till the last day but less optimistic now #thisnotoveryet"
Scott Parker looks to be on his way out from White Hart Lane but it isn’t clear where to. Queens Park Rangers have made enquiries about the England international – in a move which would reunite Parker with former boss Harry Redknapp – but Fulham have also entered the race with Martin Jol hopeful of securing Parker’s signature.
Fulham matched QPR’s offer of £2m but Spurs chairman Daniel Levy has insisted that any Premier League side who wants to take Parker would have to pay double the transfer fee, with QPR’s Championship status allowing them to offer less.
Manager Andre Villas-Boas things record signing Roberto Soldado could provide the cutting edge that he feels his side has been missing and score 20 goals in the Premier League this season and was impressed with his new signings.
Soldado stepped up to score a penalty in Spurs’ opening day 1-0 win at Crystal Palace to give them all three points.
AVB said afterwards: “To see him so confidently step up and put it the same side as against Espanyol [in a pre-season friendly] was important for us. It’s good to see him creating some chances out there.
