I am casting my eye back to this exact day, the 19th August 2013, but a year earlier
What were the main transfer tales from that day? What big events were happening in Premier League football?
Manchester United signed Alex Buttner, Everton confirmed Mirallas while Manchester City and Southampton played out a blinder... but here are some of the big scoops from the 19th August 2012.
What ya Sahin Arsenal?
Arsenal to sign Nuri Sahin on loan from Real Madrid, the news everyone wanted to hear at The Emirates after the club agreed a fee with Barcelona for Alex Song. Sahin would now act as his automatic replacement for the Cameroonian.
But it did not quite work out that way, despite being photographed in an Arsenal shirt. The two clubs could not agree on a loan deal that suited both parties, and he therefore joined Liverpool for an unsuccessful stint just a week later.
Seas part for impressive Moses
Victor Moses was commended a year ago for his excellent Wigan performance against the club on the verge of signing him, Chelsea.
Chelsea were readying a new bid for the young Nigerian that day, but Moses conducted himself brilliantly in a superb performance - which belied the fact he openly wanted the switch to Chelsea.
It earned him respect from football fans galore, but in the end Chelsea got their man - signing Moses one week later.
Perhaps the most absurd, ludicrous and downright fanciful transfer rumour of last summer - Marouane Chamakh to Tottenham Hotspur.
Andre Villas-Boas was desperate for a striker, but certainly not that desperate that he could have made a move for his North London rivals flop Moroccan striker.
Incidentally, almost a year to the day after this very tentative link, Chamakh made his debut for Crystal Palace - against Spurs.
