Manchester United have seen a £28 million offer for Marouane Fellaini and Leighton Baines rejected by Everton. David Moyes has decided to go after the pair who served him at Goodison Park following United’s failure to sign Cesc Fabregas from Barcelona.
Southampton have completed the £15 million signing of Pablo Osvaldo from Roma. The fee is a club record, beating the £12.5 million the club paid to sign Victor Wanyama from Celtic earlier this summer. Osvaldo has a fiery reputation, arriving as one of the ‘bad boys’ of Serie A football.
England batsman Jonathan Trott has called for changes to the Decision Review System. DRS has encountered difficulties in the current Ashes series with debatable decisions going in favour of both England and Australia.
“Maybe more benefit of doubt should go to the batsman. More benefit of doubt is going to the umpire with regards to defending an umpire's decision,” Trott told Radio 5 live’s Sportsweek.
Europe won the Solheim Cup in the USA for the first time following an 18-10 win after the final round of play. Europe dominated for much of the tournament, defending their title well as they went into the final day needing just 3.5 points. They were given the perfect start by 17-year-old Charley hull.
Formula One team Red Bull are set to name Daniel Ricciardo as Mark Webber’s replacement. Webber announced earlier in the season that he would be leaving the sport, feeling disillusioned following several rule changes and an apparent lack of support from his team.
