Liverpool transfer news: ‘New Robben’ and Turkish playmaker both linked

A select round-up of transfer news relating to Liverpool, including Leandro Damiao, Arda Turan and Richairo Zivkovic.

Despite Brendan Rodgers stating the Luis Suarez situation has been “resolved”, that hasn’t stopped Liverpool being linked with a new striker this morning.

The Sunday People claims the Reds will move for Brazilian Leandro Damiao...if they fail to secure the signature of Willian and Arsenal return with an offer in the region of £50million for Suarez.

That is a couple of big ifs, but the Reds have been burned before, when they believed they had all but signed Henrikh Mkhitaryan only to see the midfielder join Borussia Dortmund.

Liverpool have also been linked with a player referred to as “the new Arjen Robben” – 16-year-old Richairo Zivkovic.

The winger currently plays for FC Groningen and has reportedly been tracked by Liverpool for some time.

While there is little doubt he would be a good addition to the current squad, Reds fans may feel they need to sign some more experienced players to go with their already impressive youngsters.

And finally, reported Reds target Arda Turan may be on his way to the Premier League. At least if his agent - and Mundo Deportivo - are to be believed.

According to claims from agent Ahmet Bulut, the Atletico Madrid play-maker has previously been the subject of a failed bid from Monaco and attracted interest from both Liverpool and Arsenal during the last transfer window.

The transfer of Arda to the Premier (League) this summer is likely,” Bulut said.
