Tottenham Hotspur transfer news: Isco gets involved while Roma pair remain courted

Isco

Transfer news from White Hart Lane, involving Gareth Bale, Isco, Pablo Osvaldo and Erik Lamela.

A player who would find himself almost in direct competition with Gareth Bale should the Welsh wizard sign for Real Madrid this summer has been talking about a potential move for the player today, suggesting his club should sign him.

Real Madrid summer signing Isco believes Bale is a great player and that he would certainly give new Los Blancos boss Carlo Ancelotti a selection headache this season:

"Bale is a fantastic player. If he comes over, it'll create quite a problem for the coach" in deciding which current member of the squad he would replace’.

It comes as Andre Villas-Boas has finally ended his recent silence on the Bale matter. The Portuguese, speaking ahead of the game with Crystal Palace this Sunday, said that Bale was simply injured for the tie - but he also acknowledged his awareness at the interest from Real Madrid in his star player:

Pre-season has gone by without him being involved so for Palace, Tbilisi and Swansea he will not threaten to come back.

‘Ideally we would like the player to continue to be at Tottenham – this is where the future is for him and for us – but we are are that Real Madrid are interested. It doesn’t mean we are willing to negotiate.’’

In terms of transfer news, and players coming in to the club, the hierarchy are still trying to bring in a follow up signing to Etienne Capoue this week.

AS Roma is the club being targeted, with Pablo Osvaldo and Erik Lamela the players in question.

While the Giallorossi seem willing to sell trouble-maker Osvaldo Spurs face fierce competition from Southampton. The Saints are willing to make him their highest paid player, and the forward has previously played under Mauricio Pochettino at Espanyol.

The interest in Lamela is also concrete, however the clubs are still believed to be some way apart in regards to price-tags for the young Argentine.
