Liverpool transfer news: Suarez’s future settled and Willian deal close?

A select round-up of transfer news relating to Liverpool including Luis Suarez and Willian.

The Luis Suarez saga appears to be at an end, following the Liverpool striker’s apology for previous quotes about broken promises.

What had appeared likely to be one of the transfer window’s biggest and longest-running stories quickly came to an end after the Uruguayan returned to first-team training yesterday.

While he cannot be called on for six more games, it seems Brendan Rodgers can now focus solely on bringing in new recruits and forget about the possibility – however slim – of losing his prolific frontman.

Arsenal certainly appear to think the chase is over, with the Mirror claiming they have turned their attention back to Manchester United’s Wayne Rooney.

The Gunners don’t make it easy for themselves, do they?

In possible incoming transfer news: following reports yesterday that Liverpool were in talks with Anzhi Makhachkala about the possibility of signing Willian, the Daily Mail claims they could be about to make him the second most expensive signing in their history.

The Brazilian play-maker is believed to be available for around £30million, and would be an exciting addition to a midfield already containing the excellent Philippe Coutinho.
