Raymond James announced a key senior management appointment in its Private Client Group (PCG).
David Patchen, a regional director for the firm’s independent broker/dealer, Raymond James Financial Services (RJFS), will become senior vice president of PCG Education and Practice Management on September 1, a role that will support all business models under the firm’s AdvisorChoice® spectrum, according to Chet Helck, CEO of the Global Private Client Group.
Patchen will lead and direct several functions, including new advisor and experienced advisor education, conferences and practice management. He will also coordinate with business leaders across the organisation to support advisor productivity and contribute to the firm’s succession planning and practice acquisition initiatives.
'David will continue Raymond James’ emphasis on advisor education, including helping financial advisors take best advantage of the products and services offered by Raymond James so that they can grow their businesses,' said Helck. 'He has extensive knowledge of and proven experience with advisor education and practice management, two areas that are key to growing our Private Client Group as a whole. He is uniquely suited for this role, and I look forward to the contributions he will make to our ongoing efforts.'
As a regional director for RJFS, Patchen is responsible for risk management and supervision, branch manager and advisor relationship management, and experienced advisor recruiting. His region includes more than 450 advisors in 217 branches and should deliver $175m in revenues this fiscal year. In addition, he provides practice management coaching to advisors and their teams, who range from mid-level advisors to some of the top advisory firms affiliated with Raymond James.
Prior to his regional management role, Patchen was a financial advisor and successful recruiter for RJFS. During his time as a recruiter, he began building the Raymond James practice management platform known as Practice Intelligence. He has been invited to speak at numerous industry forums and conferences and is recognized for his insights regarding advisor training, coaching and practice management.
