One area where everyone seems particularly keen to see The Gunners to spend big is in the attacking department. Big names like Wayne Rooney, Gonzalo Higuain and now Luis Suarez have all been linked with a move to The Emirates this summer.
However there is one group of fans who do not feel that the striking department is necessarily the best area for them to improve.
With Olivier Giroud the front-line striker, youngsters like Chuba Akpom and Yaya Sanogo coming through the ranks and, of course, wingers like Lukas Podolski and Theo Walcott capable of playing through the middle - why spend on attackers?
Well one Arsenal player actually feels as if one of those options ambition is not exactly justified.
Olivier Giroud has every right to be confident at the moment, after his excellent pre-season form, and he clearly feels he is the man to fire the goals from the middle in 2013-14. As for Theo Walcott, he should stay out wide:
"Theo wants to play up front, but his best position on the pitch is definitely winger. With his pace, for sure he is dangerous as a winger. We need to keep Theo in the team because he is a really important player, but I can be the striker Arsenal needs, with Theo on the right side of the team.’’
It is an interesting comment, as we all well know that Walcott harbours ambitions of being a central striker. In fact, for a period of last season, he kept Giroud out of the starting XI in that position.
In fact, the promise of more central opportunities was key to him signing a new deal at the club toward the end of 2012.
But if he is looking for support from his team-mates in this respect, well Giroud feels he should leave the striking role be, and concentrate on laying the ball on his plate from out-wide.
Do you agree with Giroud?
