Tottenham Hotspur have reportedly agreed a fee of around £12million for Dinamo Zagreb youngster Alen Halilovic, and hope to overcome the 17-year-old’s parent’s reservations about a move to agree personal terms.
Spurs were close to signing Halilovic and his Dinamo team-mate Tin Jedvaj in a £17million deal earlier in the transfer window, but the move broke down due to the attacking midfielder’s demands, and Jedvaj ended up going to Roma instead.
Halilovic became the youngest player to represent the Croatian national team this summer when he played against Portugal in a friendly, and has been compared to former Spurs star Luka Modric.
Hull City have agreed a deal with Spurs to sign both Tom Huddlestone and Jake Livermore this summer, and will now look to agree terms with the players.
A £5.25million fee has been reported for Huddlestone, who is also still attracting interest from Sunderland, but the midfielder has turned down the chance to leave Spurs before.
Livermore is likely to move on loan to Hull for a season, with both players unlikely to feature for Spurs after the arrival of Paulinho and likely Etienne Capoue this summer.
Scott Parker is apparently on the verge of completing a £3million move to QPR, and Harry Redknapp is still hopeful that he can also sign Jermain Defoe from Spurs this summer.
Parker is believed to have already passed a medical at QPR, and is prepared to drop down to the Championship despite interest from Premier League sides.
Defoe might be less amenable to such a move, with the striker keen to ensure he is selected for the England squad for next year’s World Cup.
Spurs are interested in Barcelona defender Marc Bartra, but will likely only make a move for the 22-year-old if the Spanish side are able to sign either David Luiz or Daniel Agger this summer.
Andre Villas-Boas is keen to add some cover at centre-back after selling Steven Caulker, and Bartra might be looking for regular first team football after playing just 16 matches last season.
