In what could be a sensational transfer turnaround, it appears that Luis Suarez could be ready to stay at Liverpool FC.
It was reported late last night by a respected Latin American journalist, Martin Chaquero, that Suarez had confirmed to him personally that he would be staying at Anfield – because of the reception he has received from fans, despite his apparent desire to seal a move away. He even intimated that the Uruguayan striker could sign a new deal at the club.
Now it is reported in Uruguayan newspaper El Observador, in a direct quote from Suarez, that he will indeed be a Liverpool player next season:
"For now, because of all the affection of the people, I will be staying,"
If these reports turn out to be true, then Arsenal will have to look elsewhere for their big name signing this summer.
Brendan Rodgers is reportedly eyeing up Anzhi Machachkala forward Willian – after the Russian club put him, and every foreign player up for sale amid the turmoil at the club recently.
After losing out on Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Diego Costa already this summer, former Shakhtar star Willian is being considered as the next plausible option.
The only problem could be his asking price.
It is reported that the Russian outfit want to recoup as much of a fee as they can for the player – so his valuation is set to be around £30 million.
The former Aston Villa star has struggled for first team football recently and he wanted to be assured of that status next term – as he harbours slim hopes of going to the World Cup in Brazil.
He joins fellow infamous Liverpool flops Andy Carroll and Joe Cole in East London.
