Having so far been frustrated in his transfer attempts, David Moyes is reportedly considering a move for Sevilla midfielder Geoffrey Kondogbia.
The Manchester Evening News reports that United could turn their attention to the French international despite quotes from Sevilla president Jose Maria del Nido warning interested parties to stay away.
Kondogbia has previously been linked with Chelsea and Real Madrid, and is one of French football’s brightest prospects. But newspaper Marca run quotes from del Nido declaring the player will remain at Sevilla for another season, something the player has previously intimated himself.
However he also said any interested parties would have to pay €20million for the player, leaving the door open no matter how angry he would apparently be to see him leave.
Despite plenty of stories linking him with a move away from Old Trafford, the Guardian reports that Nani wishes to remain and that Moyes is happy for him to do so.
The winger’s future has been uncertain for some time, and talks over a new contract have so far failed to materialise. But the 26-year-old, who has flattered to deceive for much of his time at Old Trafford, may get another chance under the new boss.
One man who won’t is Federico Macheda, who is reportedly a loan target for Doncaster Rovers.
The Italian striker is likely to leave Old Trafford when his contract expires at the end of the season, and in the meantime it seems he will attempt to find the net in England’s second tier, having failed to consistently do so anywhere else since his fleeting brush with fame back in 2009.
