Queen's Park Rangers boss foresees £3.5m announcement in coming days.
Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Scott Parker is set to swap Premier League football for the Championship in a £3.5m deal, according to Queens Park Rangers boss Harry Redknapp, as the tenacious Englishman, aged 32, has undergone a medical at Loftus Road today, Tuesday.
'We're hopeful of getting Scotty signed soon,' confirmed Redknapp, who worked with the player while he was Spurs boss. 'He's a great lad and will be a really good signing for us.'
With the acquisition of Paulinho, the return to injury of Sandro, the midfield mainstay form of Moussa Dembele last season and the increasing rumours of a playmaking import, Parker has seen himself pushed further and further away from a first-team place.
At QPR, though, he'd be virtually guaranteed regular football.
The consensus amongst the mainstream press is that he will be unveiled by Thursday, joining a plethora of other summer signings at QPR including Danny Simpson, Richard Dunne, Karl Henry, Charlie Austin and Gary O'Neil.
