Transfer news involving Manchester United, Tottenham Hotspur, Liverpool, Arsenal, West Ham, Everton and Real Madrid.
Odds are being slashed today on Manchester United potentially making a move for Tottenham Hotspur superstar Gareth Bale. It is reported that United may make a move for the player now they know his asking price - with Real Madrid for company in his pursuit.
Arsenal are in talks with Bayern Munich over Brazilian midfielder Luiz Gustavo. The fee for the player is believed to be in the region of £15 million.
Bayern’s CEO Karl-Heinz Rummenigge spoke of Gustavo’s imminent exit:
"Luiz has offers from England, Spain, Russia and Germany. The player has not made a decision, yet,"
Stewart Downing is to undergo a medical at West Ham United today. The England international is not part of the first-team plans at Anfield for the upcoming season - and therefore has been touted for a potential move.
A figure of £6 million is being mentioned - and a deal could be completed by the end of the day.
Brendan Rodgers has responded to claims that Luis Suarez will not be apologising to Liverpool FC over his recent conduct.
Rodgers has previously intimated that the Uruguayan would have to say sorry before getting any chance to play with the first-team again.
Rodgers says today that there can be ‘no solution’ to the problem if there is no apology.
Agger’s agent Per Steffensen stated:
"We are aware that Barcelona have made an offer for Daniel that Liverpool have rejected. Daniel has a contract with Liverpool for the next three years and it would be up to the clubs to agree a fee for his transfer in order for that to change."
In terms of possible incomings for Liverpool, the club is set to make a move for Brazilian left-back Guilherme Siqueira of Granada.
Real Madrid and Everton have also been linked with his signature.
The Ghanaian’s contract runs out in 2014 and Porto are willing to sell him on the cheap.
Everton and Liverpool have also shown an interest in the player.
