Manchester City latest: Toure wins award and Brazilian move dismissed

All the latest news, views and transfer rumours from the Etihad...

Despite reports to the contrary, it is being claimed Manchester City have no intention of signing Anzhi Makhachkala midfielder Willian.

The Brazilian is believed to be one of many potential bargains available as the Russian side seek to reduce their wage bill, but City have distanced themselves from a move.

Although Manuel Pellegrini has intimated that his summer spending may not be over just yet, the likelihood is that they will be of the defensive persuasion.

It is no doubt the 25-year-old would be an excellent addition to a side already brimming with midfield creativity, but following the arrivals of Fernandinho and Jesus Navas, Willian may be an extravagance too far.

Speaking of midfield options, Yaya Toure has been crowned Ivory Coast player of the year following his performances last season. The reigning African Footballer of the Year beat Didier Drogba and Wilfried Bony to the award.

And finally, following quotes from West Bromwich Albion manager Steve Clarke that the Baggies are in talks with City over the possible transfer of Scott Sinclair, more details of the potential move are being reported.

The Mirror claims Sinclair will move to The Hawthorns on an initial loan deal before moving permanently next summer.

With City seeking a fee in the region of £6million, it is being reported that £2million of that will be in an initial loan fee.
