Bebe's Manchester United career may be about to come to an abrupt end, a reported offer on the table is accurate.
The surprise signing of three years ago is no closer to making an impact on the first team, having spent the majority of the past two seasons out on loan.
He had initial success out on loan in his native Portugal last season, impressing with Rio Ave before his form trailed off.
But it appears to have been enough for the 23-year-old to have attracted other suitors in his homeland, with a potential high profile move around the corner.
They face Zenit St Peterburg, and are seemingly trying to recruit new players to bolster their chances.
It is reported that the club have made an offer to Bebe, but cannot afford his current wages, so the United man will have to take a salary cut if he does move.
What is unclear is the nature of the bid, whether it be a loan move or permanent. From United's perspective it might just be best to draw a line under his time at the club and let him move on and rebuild his career.
A move to United came too soon for Bebe and he was both not ready nor good enough to make a breakthrough, with Sir Alex Ferguson bemusingly admitting he had never seen him play before signing him.
Now could be the perfect chance for him to move on, and really, Bebe should forget the wages issue - and think about a chance to play in the Champions League, or hope for a rare chance to sit on the bench at United. No contest surely.
Should Bebe seize the chance to move on? What do you think?
