News and gossip from the past 48 hours at White Hart Lane.
Roberto Soldado scored his first goal in Tottenham Hotspur colours. He looked impressive in a 1-1 draw with Espanyol - and after Danny Rose was hauled down in the box he converted from the penalty spot.
The club also welcomed back Sandro and Younes Kaboul from long term injury problems.
It is reported today that Spurs are after Fabio Coentrao - regardless of Gareth Bale’s future. It has been reported that talks with Real Madrid are still ongoing, despite claims from Florentino Perez that they won’t pay the asking price for the player.
However the Portuguese left-back remains on the wanted list regardless.
The same report also claims that Tom Ince will be brought in if Bale leaves.
Tottenham were linked with both Christian Eriksen and Toby Alderweireld this morning. However it is reported that Spartak Moscow have jumped the gun in the pursuit of the Belgian defender. Liverpool are also said to be keen on both players.
A slightly, ambitious claim here, that Spurs will go after Luis Suarez of Liverpool should Bale join Real Madrid. Considering the main reason for Suarez’s apparent desire to leave Anfield is Champions League football - this seems unlikely.
Spurs are reportedly stepping up their pursuit of Croatian starlet Alen Halilovic. Reports in Croatia suggest that Daniel Levy and Dinamo boss Zdravko Mamic will meet in the holiday destination of Dubrovnik in order to thrash out a deal.
Hull City are reportedly planning a double raid on White Hart Lane. Steve Bruce wants to buy Tom Huddlestone and bring in Jake Livermore on loan this summer.
Goals from Harry Kane, Shaquille Coulthirst and Iago Falque (2) saw Spurs win 4-2 - with Chelsea’s goals coming courtesy of Josh McEachran and Isiah Brown.
