Manchester United transfer news: Buttner and fight until 'last day' for Rooney

Transfer news from Old Trafford involving Wayne Rooney, Alex Buttner and Marouane Fellaini.

Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho has stated that the club will battle until the ‘last day’ to sign Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney.

The 27-year-old striker is believed to be unhappy at Old Trafford and is said to be desperate to leave the club this summer.

Mourinho stated:

“We are far away so we are not in England to know every detail but, we are doing things in the correct way. We made the bid and Manchester United have reacted, let see what happens. But we can’t do more than we are doing now… We are doing everything in an ethical way, so let’s see if things change. There is no time limit... We have identified the player as one we would look to have with us. We have done it in an ethical way and we are going to do that until the last day."

It looks as if Alexander Buttner could be on his way out of Old Trafford this summer. The Dutch international is being heavily linked with Turkish outfit Besiktas.

Buttner is currently second in the pecking order behind Patrice Evra and now there is also heated talk suggesting that Everton defender Leighton Baines is on his way to the Theatre of Dreams.

Buttner wants to play at the World Cup next summer so his main desire is to play regular first-team football next term.

He is therefore set to complete a loan move to the Turkish outfit in order to force his way into the national set-up.

There are reports today that Everton will not sell Marouane Fellaini to Manchester United.

The Belgian is said to be a major transfer target for his former boss David Moyes - but Roberto Martinez reportedly has no intention of selling the giant midfielder.

It is however believed that the player himself is keen on a link-up with his former boss.
