Liverpool transfer news: Full back agrees terms, Henry stands firm on Suarez

A round up of the latest transfer news stories about Liverpool.

Valencia full back Aly Cissokho is close to completing a move to Liverpool.

The defender announced that he had agreed personal terms with the club, as Brendan Rodgers has wasted no time after missing out on a loan deal for Benfica’s Lorenzo Melgarejo after he failed to get a work permit.

The stumbling block to the deal is negotiations between Liverpool and the Spanish side.

Should that deal not happen, then other reports are suggesting that Liverpool will come up with £12 million to hijack Everton’s planned deal for Guilherme Siqueira.

Brendan Rodgers is thought to have been tracking the progress of the left back for some time, keen to add extra competition for Jose Enrique down the left side of Liverpool’s defence.

However, should Manchester United be successful in their attempt to sign Leighton Baines, Everton could intensify their pursuit of the player they see as his replacement.

Meanwhile, in the Luis Suarez saga, the club’s owner John Henry has categorically ruled out the chance the club will sell the striker this summer.

All the speculation is pointing towards a third bid from Arsenal for Suarez around the £50 million mark, as Brendan Rodgers has ordered him to train alone for showing a lack of respect to the club.

“We are not going to sell Luis [Suarez]. It’s a football reason. It’s not finances,” Henry told the Liverpool Echo.
