Suarez trains alone - Why? And what about new signings...?

The move to make striker Luis Suarez train alone seems like his departure is imminent, even if it is not.

During transfer time there is always one common theme that’s irks me, it happens when a player refuses to sign a new contract or is on the verge of a transfer, the issue……. making the player train on their own.

The latest such incident revolves around Luis Suarez. While intended to be a punishment for the player; it's self-defeating too as it gives the player what he ultimately wants, division between him and the rest of the squad.

Brendan Rodgers is right when he says that there is no coach, player or fan larger than Liverpool Football Club, his defence of the club is admirable and it is only right that for the integrity of the team that he comes out and criticizes the comments and claims made by Suarez in wake of on-going transfer speculation.

The one thing that does seem strange is the decision to make the forward train on his own, now it could be an over-reaction and the truth is Suarez is on his own as he recovers from injury but if this is not the case, then what’s the point?

If he is staying, which LFC say he is, then it is of the benefit of the team to cast aside differences, train hard and look at the bigger picture, which is to achieve the goals set out for the new season.

Suarez is the spearhead of the Liverpool attack and the practice is essential to the forward momentum of the club, by out-casting him it looks as if the decisions have already been made at the top and that he will be sold shortly.

John Henry's comments last night about keeping Suarez put were admirable, but fans also want to see players coming in. Where does the club go next regardless of Suarez? Now that is the sort of talk which will really get supporters buzzing.
