John Henry has given his strongest interview yet regarding Luis Suarez, telling the press that the striker is categorically not for sale.
And in doing so he has taken a dig at the Gunners, or a bit of a self congratulatory slap on the back regarding Liverpool's past success, whichever way you choose to look at it.
"Players usually want to win. They want to go, generally in any sport, where they can win. That's why I think this particular episode is misguided.
"We've won more trophies than Arsenal, but I really don't want to get into that."
But he did. Oh he went there.
Liverpool fans will willingly recount their five Champions League trophies, more than any English club, in comparison to Arsenal's none; and 18 league titles against the Gunners' 13.
But in recent seasons both have endured lean spells, with Liverpool just adding one FA Cup and League Cup since 2005 while Arsenal have not won anything since that year.
Arsenal last won the league more recently however, in 2003/04 in comparison to Liverpool's closest title triumph in 1989/90.
The Gunners have Champions League football to offer next season unlike Liverpool, which is the crux of Suarez' argument to leave. Is he really so misguided as Mr Henry makes out?
Have your say below- What do you think of Henry's comments?
