Etienne Capoue's form with Toulouse over the past 12 months has won him many an admirer from the Premier League.
Arsenal, Everton and even Cardiff City were all said to be interested in signing the defensive midfielder, but it now appears Tottenham Hotpsur are to be the ones to snap up the French international.
Reports in France claimed on Wednesday that a deal was close to being agreed between the two clubs, with Spurs adding him to their already very impressive midfield options.
And now French radio station RMC has indicated the move is nearing completion.
They claim a fee of €10 million plus a further €2 million in bonuses has been agreed, and a medical is imminent.
Their website reports: "The player agreed with the English club for a four-year contract. Toulouse and Tottenham have reached an agreement around twelve million (ten million plus two million bonus). Capoue will pass his medical on Friday in London."
It's exciting news for Tottenham fans who will hopefully soon be getting one of Europe's best prospective defensive midfielders in. The radio station claims that Capoue has already left for London.
Fans will hope the club's continued spending, evident on Nacer Chadli, Roberto Soldado and Paulinho, is not simply because they intend on cashing in on Gareth Bale, and is part of a drive to secure a top four place next season and show the Welshman they have the ambition to keep him around for much longer.
Spurs fans what do you make of the potential new addition?
